Where to start with Dave Duncan?

I've not read anything of his and am interested to know
what good starting points are, and what may be generally
held to be his best stuff.
By the way, I thought this had rolled around in this group
before, but I couldn't turn up anything close from the last
7 years or so.

I'm not clear on the meaning of rampancy, even after a little
online digging - specifically, I'm stubbing my toe on "...as
they think themselves to death".
Rather than wait for clarification, perhaps unwisely, I'll go

Which storyline? If you include the radio serials, he was in more

It took a bit of a Google search to find a review of "Falling Free"...
I couldn't agree with the review's recommendation that things would
have been better with more shades of grey. Sometimes evil is just
evil, and there's no reason to stretch to make excuses for slavery.

software they use, (b) all writers use computers in the first place,
and (c) publishers aren't still struggling to move from the 19th

It is alse very rare. Insurance companies are not in the health care
business. They don't provide it. They are in the insurance business,
which is entirely different.

Which is the old life expectancy and infant mortality canard. Infant
mortality is 'higher' in the US because we try to save babies europe
doesn't. If they should die the US says 'live birth' and infant
mortality. Europe says 'stillbirth/miscarriage' and doesn't count
them. The difference is defintion, not health care.

I was asking for an in-story indication that the terminology wasn't
jargon, not an in-story indication that the character was wrong. The
example I was given establishes the first by doing the second, but it
was the first I was asking about.
