I found this in Albertson's today. A bubble pack/recipe card that has all the pre-measured spices needed to make the recipe. [link] I think this is a great idea. Hopefully this will help budding new cooks learn about spices and that there is life beyond pre-packaged food while they are building their spice racks.... more »

Beef Japanese Curry over sticky rice with Japanese pickles. I just needed a Japanese fix after reading Omelet. Damn I miss not being near a Curry House restaurant. (tonight Grilled Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip & grilled asparagus.)

Besides making 4 hamburgers of varying condiments and adornments, these were the other 2 meals on this rare weekend at home (2 weeks in a row I've been home - the only two weekends since Christmas). Just curious. If I make one, do I need to use a Tagine pot or can I make it in something else? If it turns out that I like eating/making tagines enough to merit spending the money on one later, I'll do it. In the mean time, is it an absolute necessity?

How many people have a computer in their kitchen? A friend of mine has one, and I thought it was a tv monitor. She can pull up recipes while she's in the kitchen.
